Today it’s sunday, last day of KCW and I decided to save the best for last.
In Portugal, it is custom to wear your best clothes on sunday, especially if you attend the mass and/or sunday school. We call that particular outfit our sunday best.
Well, my daugther does go to sunday school and we do attend the mass afterwords, so she had to be in her’s sunday best 🙂
There are two main reasons why I choose this particular outfit.
The first one is the pattern – “Bubble Shorts” by do Guincho – Marta, the lady behind do Guincho is Portuguese, and that makes me really proud. In the pattern tour the most appeling to me were the winter versions, so I knew I had to sew one pair for KCW.
The “Bubble Shorts” is a pdf (print at home) pattern.
I own a lot of this patterns, but don’t use them that much because I get really frustrated when taping the the pattern pieces together and they never completely match (I hate it more then tracing). This pattern matches in every single piece, I love it. 😀
The instructions are very clear, but let me warn you – when you sew the outer and lining shorts together, you will probably doubt you are doing it rigth (I did) – don’t, in the end it all comes together perfectly.
The other reason why these shorts are special to me is because of the fabric – Liberty Corduroy – I love Liberty, that is no surprise for some of you, but I love it even more when I can use it for autumn/winter sewing. Tana lawn is gorgeous, but not quite apropriate for cooler wheather.

- Modifications to the patterns: Added hight to the waist

She did went to sunday school and the mass but we always go the park afterwords, some “monsters” have to be set lose after three hours of confinement 😀
Hugs and kisses
